Chicora, Pennsylvania is home to the Petroleum Valley Food Cupboard (PVFC). Started in the 1970s under the oversight of the Petroleum Valley Ministerium it has since expanded and formed as its own organization in 2020. It currently serves northeastern Butler County and about ten churches in the area assist with the operations. The PVFC serves on average 60-80 people each month through monthly food distributions. They have also served thousands though special distribution programs.
With the $1500 they hope to raise they plan to buy non-perishable and fresh foods to help fill the pantry shelves. They expect an increased need for food distributions this holiday season. Food supplied by PVFC can help struggling families free up money they would have used toward food and apply that “extra” cash to rent or bills. Donate now to help provide food this holiday season for PVFC clients.
