In Mayfield, Kentucky, The Lighthouse - A Healing Place helps provides a refuge to women and children by providing them with stable housing. They aim to restore dignity for their residents by offering classes that focus on areas in their life that need to be strengthened and invested in. They empower independence by teaching their clients how to plan a financial budget, maintain employment and lead/coach new residents. They assist approximately 40 women and children each year.

With the $2,000 they hope to raise, they plan to add more equipment to their kitchen area. This new equipment includes a new stove, microwave and dishwasher. This new equipment will help relieve the stress on the shared kitchen space so that more families in residence can utilize the kitchen area.
