In Ohio, the Marion Police Department K9 Program is an integral to the department’s fight against violent crime and illegal drugs in the city. The K9 Program in Marion raises awareness regarding crime prevention and good public/police relations. The officers often visit the schools with the K9s as ambassadors for the police in the community. "I especially want to thank my partner Six. He lives up to his name every day. He watches my back on calls, when we're just parked typing reports, and sometimes when other cars get a little too close. He loves his job. I don't think I've ever seen anyone more excited to go to work. Thanks for always having my back buddy. You're the best partner I could ask for," Lt. Mark Elliott, in reference to his partner, K9 Six.
It takes a lot of time, resources and money to keep the K9s strong, healthy and well trained. The $1000 raised for the K9 program will go toward ongoing trainings and certifications for the K9s and their partners as well as veterinary care, nutrition and equipment for the K9s. The community can help ensure that the K9 officers and their partners are well equipped to continue to serve the community in the fight against violent crime and illegal drugs. Donate now and support a stronger K9 program that leads to a safer community!
