In Murray, KY the fire department’s mission is to deliver the highest level of fire protection to the citizens and visitors of Murray. Whether it is responding to a house fire, rescuing patients involved in a vehicle accident, or conducting fire prevention activities, the department is committed to serving their community. They are on duty 24 hours a day, seven days a week to respond to emergencies in the community.
The 36 firefighters in the department are in need of new/additional Bunker Gear. This is the personal protective equipment (PPE) or protective clothing worn by firefighters. With the $5,000 (or hopefully more) they hope to raise, they plan to purchase new Bunker Gear sets. "If successful, this fundraising initiative would greatly improve the health and safety of our firefighters," Lieutenant Mark Lovell - City of Murray Fire Department.
