Like every school district in the nation, COVID-19 has affected the normal school day for Burton ISD in Burton, TX. As always their number one concern is the safety of their students. Burton ISD is a 2A school district in central Texas with approximately 495 Pre K thru 12th grade students all on one campus. “Burton Independent School District is excited to welcome back our students for the 2020-2021 school year to both in-person and remote instruction. Things may look a little different, however we are still #TEAMBURTON promoting a learning environment that exemplifies the pride and excellence of our Burton Panthers,” Dr. Edna Kennedy, Burton ISD Superintendent.
One of the many ways the district wants to make their students safe is by installing water stations. With the $1300 they raise they will purchase water stations to be placed throughout the schools. By having students bring their own water bottle to school and filling it at a water station, the district hopes to cut down on germs passed through regular drinking fountains. The health and wellness of their students and staff is their main concern. By keeping the students well, they help to keep their community well. Donate now to help students stay safely hydrated!
