In Georgetown, Kentucky, Someone Like You’s vision is to support families who face trials and tribulations dealing with the loss of a loved one due to substance use. They want to give families hope and show them they are not forgotten. The goal is to help as many families as possible out of the trenches and into recovery. Someone Like You collaborates with other organizations in their community with the hope that one day they can touch the lives of every family that has felt the impact of substance use. “In this day and time hardly anyone has escaped becoming affected by substance use in some respect. The empathy and understanding one gains through this experience is why we say sometimes it takes ‘Someone Like You’ to make a difference in the life of someone like you,” Eric Poe, co-founder of Someone Like You.
This fundraiser is being done in conjunction with their 1st Annual Battle of the Recovery Houses Cornhole Tournament. The $3,000 raised from this Impact campaign will go directly to family support initiatives offered by Someone Like You. Their assistance to families include but are not limited to providing birthday parties for children in families affected by substance use; school clothes for children; and holiday activities for families. Donate now to help Someone Like You support families touched by the affects of substance use.
