The Monroe Air Force JROTC program at Monroe High School was established in 1993 with the intent to develop citizens of character dedicated to serving their nation and community. Currently there are a little over one hundred students enrolled in the JROTC program. The Air Force Junior ROTC program provides a quality citizenship, character, and leadership development program, while fostering enduring partnerships and relationships with high schools, educational institutions, and communities that help meet our citizen development mission. Their motto is, “Building Better Citizens for America.”
The Monroe Air Force JROTC is requesting donations to help raise $8,000. Funds will help cover expenses for the JROTC students to travel to our nation’s capital in Washington DC. Being a Title One school, a large majority of the students come from low-income households, making a trip like this impossible for them to pay for on their own. Donations will help provide students the opportunity to travel outside the state and see the historical sites in our nation’s capital. This is an amazing opportunity for the JROTC students to heighten their cultural experience.
